Hi, I’m Mable, and I love horses!! We have 12 horses at home. Here I will name them off for you; Bunny, Cash, Annie, Captain Jack, Amy, Stardust, Doodles, Sweety, Phoebe, Mudslide, and the ones that are for sale are, Peanut, and Little Bit!!
I have 7 cows, 1 bull, and 5 baby calves!! I also love cows. Two of the calves I am taking to fair. They are two heifer calves; one of their names is August, that because she was born on August 1. The other ones name is Strawberry Shortcake, that because she is red and white, red for strawberries and the white for the vanilla shortcake [lol]!
Next Saturday, November 13 is the Trevor Roberts Fundraiser. Each classroom has been asked to collect items for a basket to be auctioned off to raise money for Trevor Roberts and his family. Our classroom was asked to put together a “camping themed” basket. As of right now, I have not received any items to put in the basket. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, I will purchase items for the basket or purchase a gift card from Cabela’s. Thank you for your help!
Items need to be sent to school by Thursday, November 11th.
Hi my name is Samantha Koch and this is the story of my experience at the Leavenworth County Fair. At the fair I showed my bucket calf, my goats, and I was able to ride and exhibit one of Mable’s horses. Then I entered my food items, which were cinnamon rolls, snicker doodles, and a gift basket. I did really well on my food exhibits this year, and got a purple on my cinnamon rolls, blue on my snicker doodles, and I got a blue on my gift basket. My bucket calf’s name is Heffey; she is a Red Limousine Cross. I got a blue for consultation judging and I was very surprised when I got Champion Showmanship with my bucket calf. I was so happy when I got a t-shirt and a belt buckle for my win. I did great with my goats this year. I got a red on my market goat, and I got champion and reserve champion with 2 of my dairy goats. I showed my friend Mable’s horse Phoebe at the horse show. I got reserve champion on showmanship and I was so close to getting champion showmanship, I just have a few more things to work on. I really enjoy showing at the County Fair each year, and hope that next year for everyone to come visit me.
The Halloween party is this Friday! The parade will begin a little before 2 and the party will follow. We have had a few people sign up to bring treats. Paper goods have been provided and Mrs. Jolley signed up to be room mother. We are still in need of drinks and possibly games. If anyone would like to help please let me know. Thanks!
My football team is called the McLouth Mustangs. I am the A team captain and I lead the team in touchdowns. I play quarterback, offensive line and middle line backer. We have won two games so far this season.
I got the opportunity to go to Kansas State Fair in September, and show my horse Miss Tender Lea at the KS. State 4-H Horse Show. I showed my horse in four classes, Showmanship at Halter, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Pleasure Pairs. My partner Madison and I got fourth place in pleasure pairs. I had so much fun riding the carnival rides and hanging out with my friends. The KS. State Fair is located in Hutchinson KS. It runs every year in the month of September. I would highly recommend going to the KS. State Fair if you have never been.
I took these pictures for the 4-H fair. I got two purple ribbons for the two football pictures. The purple ribbons are for grand champion. I also got blue ribbons for the other three pictures. Photography is fun because you can take cool pictures.

Grandparent’s Day was held on September 10, 2010. We had 18 grandparents visit our classroom. We interviewed our grandparents. They told us about themselves and what it was like when they were 10 years old. Gasoline was only $0.19 per gallon! Some of the grandparents didn’t even have bathrooms in their house growing up! Then we went had cookies and juice with our grandparents. It was a great day!
