Double Dutch by Josey

Our experience with Double Dutch
Our story in Week 4 (September 10-14) was called Double Dutch. We all thought Double Dutch looked fun and hard. Mrs. Holwick wanted us to try it. So, in gym we got try Double Dutch and sometimes we do it at recess.  It was very hard and none of us were very good at it at first. The teachers decided they were going to practice and show us that you can accomplish anything with enough hard work! Even though we are not great at double dutch, we are all getting better! Here is a summary of the story and then you will read interviews from Mr. Schroeder, Mr. McGinnis, Ms. Addison and Mrs. Holwick. I hope you enjoy!

This story is about a champion Double Dutch Team. They don’t recite songs. They all have to remember their routine and they all have to move in unison. Their Coach is Coach Rockett. He started the team by looking out his classroom window and saw 3 girls Double Dutching. Now, here are the interviews.
Interview with Ms. Addison:
JM: How long have you been doing Double Dutch?
Ms. A: Elementry School. About 12 years ago.
JM: Are you good at Double Dutch?
Ms. A: I’m okay, I guess.
JM: Would you teach Double Dutch in class?
Ms. A: If I had the opportunity to do so.  I am sort of already since I am your student teacher.
JM: What is the most number of jumps you have ever gotten?
Ms. A: 14 jumps
Interview with Mrs. Holwick
JM: How long have you been doing Double Dutch?
Mrs. H: Never, until last week.
JM: Are you good at Double Dutch?
Mrs. H: Not so much, my brain seems to prevent my feet from moving.
JM: Would you teach Double Dutch in class?
Mrs. H: Yes, I am right now.
JM: What is the most number of jumps you have ever gotten?
Mrs. H: Less than 4 jumps :) But I keep getting better every time!
Interview with Mr. Schroeder
JM: How long have you been doing Double Dutch?
Mr. S: Elementary school, about 20 years ago.
JM: Are you good at Double Dutch?
Mr. S: I am okay.
JM: Would you teach Double Dutch in class?
Mr. S: Sometimes with the 5th grade.
JM: What is the most number of jumps you have ever gotten?
Mr. S: Too many to count.
Interview with Mr. McGinnis
JM: How long have you been doing Double Dutch?
Mr.M: Two weeks.
JM: Are you good at Double Dutch?
Mr.M: Compared to Mrs. Holwick, everyone is good at Double Dutch. (He was just kidding...Mrs. Holwick was having a hard time getting it down!)
JM: Would you teach Double Dutch in class?
Mr. M: Not to kids below 5th grade, but it is something I would have to become more familiar with before I taught it.
JM: What is the most number of jumps you have ever gotten?
Mr. M: Eleven million....  Probably about 7 or 8 at the most.
